Zenith angle distributions at Super-Kamiokande and SNO and the solution of the solar neutrino problem

چکیده
We have performed a detailed study of the zenith angle dependence of the regeneration factor and distributions of events at SNO and SK for different solutions of the solar neutrino problem. In particular, we discuss oscillatory behaviour and the synchronization effect in the distribution for the LMA solution, the parametric peak for the LOW solution, etc. . . Physical interpretation of the effects is given. We suggest a new binning of events which emphasizes distinctive features of zenith angle distributions for the different solutions. We also find the correlations between the integrated day–night asymmetry and the rates of events in different zenith angle bins. Study of these correlations strengthens the identification power of the analysis. [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]

متن کاملImplications for Solar Neutrino Oscillations from Super-Kamiokande and SNO Data
Super-Kamiokande uses neutrino-electron elastic scattering to measure the recoil electron spectrum and zenith-angle dependence of solar B neutrinos. SNO has measured the B neutrino–deuteron charged-current reaction rate. The elastic scattering rate, spectrum and zenith-angle dependence in conjunction with the charged-current reaction rate favors active neutrino oscillations at large mixing angl...

We analyze the 1258-day Super-Kamiokande day and night energy spectra with various χ 2 definitions. The best-fit lies in the LMA region at (∆m 2 , tan 2 θ) = (5.01 × 10 −5 eV 2 , 0.60), independently of whether systematic errors are included in the χ 2-definition. We compare the exclusion and allowed regions from the different definitions and choose the most suitable definition to predict the r...
متن کاملDetermination of Solar Neutrino Oscillation Parameters using 1496 Days of Super-Kamiokande-I Data
A number of different fits to solar neutrino mixing and mass square difference were performed using 1496 days of Super-Kamiokande-I’s solar neutrino data. These data select two allowed areas at large neutrino mixing when combined with either the solar B flux prediction of the standard solar model or the SNO interaction rate measurements. A global fit combining SK data with the solar neutrino in...
